Dr. Edupuganti received his biology degree from Baylor University in Waco, TX, and medical degree from University of Texas in Galveston. He completed his internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, and his cardiology fellowship at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, LA.

Dr. Edupuganti is a member of the American College of Cardiology, is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine. He is passionate about patient education and engagement. His special clinical interests include general and preventive cardiology, echo and nuclear cardiology, and pregnancy and heart disease.

In his free time Dr. Edupuganti enjoys spending time with family and physical fitness.

Dr. Geoff Southmayd is a native of Austin, TX. He graduated with distinction from Duke University with a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, and then attended medical school at the University of Texas - Health Science Center at Houston. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University, where he served as Chief Medical Resident. He then continued with Emory to complete fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology, where he was chosen to serve as Chief Cardiology Fellow and Chief Interventional Cardiology Fellow. Dr. Southmayd is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, and Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention. He joined Wellstar Cardiovascular Medicine in September 2020, and is currently on staff at Wellstar Cobb, Douglas, Paulding and Kennestone hospitals.  When not practicing medicine, Dr. Southmayd enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and is an avid Duke basketball fan. 

Dr. Lourie, a board-certified invasive cardiologist, was born and raised in Columbia, SC. He received his undergraduate and medical degree from Emory University. After training in internal medicine at Emory, he completed his cardiology fellowship at Tufts University/St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, MA. He is fully trained in cardiac catheterization, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and permanent pacemaker implantation.

Dr. Lourie is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of several medical societies.

Dr. Lourie has been in private practice in Cobb and Douglas counties since 1998. He is a past chief of staff of Wellstar Cobb Hospital and past chairman of the Department of Medicine from 2002-2008. He also is the chief of the cardiology section and sits on the Medical Executive Committee at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He is currently on staff at Wellstar Cobb, Douglas, Kennestone and Paulding hospitals.

When not enjoying the practice of medicine, Dr. Lourie finds great pleasure in spending time with his wife and three sons. He enjoys fitness/sports, reading, writing and gardening. On the rare occasion that time permits, he enjoys playing a round of golf.

Dr. Jacob N. Blatt, a cardiac electrophysiologist, is an Atlanta native. He graduated with honors from Duke University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Biological Anthropology & Anatomy. After receiving his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, he was appointed a clinical fellow at Harvard Medical School while completing his internship and residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. He returned home to Atlanta and completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease and cardiac electrophysiology at Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Blatt is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, and is board-eligible in cardiac electrophysiology. He is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society, American Heart Association and the Medical Honor Society Alpha Omega Alpha. He joined Wellstar in August of 2010, and is fully trained in all aspects of invasive cardiac electrophysiology including pacemakers, defibrillators, resynchronization therapy, complex arrhythmia management and ablation, transeptal catheterization, and transvenous lead extraction. He has a special interest in catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation.

Dr. Blatt is married and the father of two children. When not practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family and has always been an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
