About Adam Lourie, MD
Dr. Lourie, a board-certified invasive cardiologist, was born and raised in Columbia, SC. He received his undergraduate and medical degree from Emory University. After training in internal medicine at Emory, he completed his cardiology fellowship at Tufts University/St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, MA. He is fully trained in cardiac catheterization, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and permanent pacemaker implantation.
Dr. Lourie is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of several medical societies.
Dr. Lourie has been in private practice in Cobb and Douglas counties since 1998. He is a past chief of staff of Wellstar Cobb Hospital and past chairman of the Department of Medicine from 2002-2008. He also is the chief of the cardiology section and sits on the Medical Executive Committee at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He is currently on staff at Wellstar Cobb, Douglas, Kennestone and Paulding hospitals.
When not enjoying the practice of medicine, Dr. Lourie finds great pleasure in spending time with his wife and three sons. He enjoys fitness/sports, reading, writing and gardening. On the rare occasion that time permits, he enjoys playing a round of golf.

I feel as though a two o'clock appointment should not have to wait for an hour or an hour and a half to see the doctor. I think there's too much time between the appointment time that you're given and the time that you see Dr. Lourie.

It took a very long time to be seen. Over an hour. I feel when there is a wait like that a nurse or someone should come in the room every 15 minutes or so if for nothing else let us know we haven't been forgotten. But I really do like my doctor.

When I make an appointment at this practice, the doctor is always anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour late in seeing me for that scheduled appointment. Also medication that caused problems with my heart two times in the past six months and he's taken me off of both of those and once again he tried to prescribe it. So I lost a little confidence in him in paying attention to what's been going on with my heart and my visits to the hospital as a result of medication. Thank you. Bye bye.
