About Adam Lourie, MD
Dr. Lourie, a board-certified invasive cardiologist, was born and raised in Columbia, SC. He received his undergraduate and medical degree from Emory University. After training in internal medicine at Emory, he completed his cardiology fellowship at Tufts University/St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, MA. He is fully trained in cardiac catheterization, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and permanent pacemaker implantation.
Dr. Lourie is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of several medical societies.
Dr. Lourie has been in private practice in Cobb and Douglas counties since 1998. He is a past chief of staff of Wellstar Cobb Hospital and past chairman of the Department of Medicine from 2002-2008. He also is the chief of the cardiology section and sits on the Medical Executive Committee at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He is currently on staff at Wellstar Cobb, Douglas, Kennestone and Paulding hospitals.
When not enjoying the practice of medicine, Dr. Lourie finds great pleasure in spending time with his wife and three sons. He enjoys fitness/sports, reading, writing and gardening. On the rare occasion that time permits, he enjoys playing a round of golf.

I had an appointment scheduled for 11:30 AM and was instructed to arrive at 11:15 AM. I arrived as requested, but I did not get to see the doctor until approximately 12:30 PM-about an hour after my scheduled appointment time. After my appointment, I went to the checkout desk to schedule my next appointment, but no one was there. I waited for approximately five minutes, but no staff member came to assist me. As a result, I was unable to schedule my follow-up appointment. I understand that delays can occasionally happen, but the combination of the significant wait and the lack of staff available at checkout was frustrating and disappointing. I would appreciate an explanation and would like to know how this can be addressed so it does not happen again.

Dr Lourie spend long time reviewing my notes from 3 different hospitalizations over 7 mos. And gave me in the begining time to express my worries. Just at the end about 5:15 pm he was on a little hurried. We understood. The receptionist was the only staff in his office that was left.
