About Adam Lourie, MD
Dr. Lourie, a board-certified invasive cardiologist, was born and raised in Columbia, SC. He received his undergraduate and medical degree from Emory University. After training in internal medicine at Emory, he completed his cardiology fellowship at Tufts University/St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, MA. He is fully trained in cardiac catheterization, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and permanent pacemaker implantation.
Dr. Lourie is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of several medical societies.
Dr. Lourie has been in private practice in Cobb and Douglas counties since 1998. He is a past chief of staff of Wellstar Cobb Hospital and past chairman of the Department of Medicine from 2002-2008. He also is the chief of the cardiology section and sits on the Medical Executive Committee at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He is currently on staff at Wellstar Cobb, Douglas, Kennestone and Paulding hospitals.
When not enjoying the practice of medicine, Dr. Lourie finds great pleasure in spending time with his wife and three sons. He enjoys fitness/sports, reading, writing and gardening. On the rare occasion that time permits, he enjoys playing a round of golf.

Dr. Lourie is not only personable he also is attentive to my dialogue. He acts as though we are partners concerning my health care. His comments are easily understood. Recommendations are practical and reasonable. He seems to genuinely care about his patients.

Whenever Dr Lourie is making notes he will stop if I begin talking and I know that his attention is 100% focused on what I am saying. As far as I am concerned, there is no doctor better than Dr Lourie!

I had to wait 45 minutes after my appointment time to be seen by the doctor. No one ever came in and told me that he was behind or that there would be a wait. I was just left there. It would have been helpful to know that he was running late and why.

This is the first time that I had to wait so long to see the doctor. My appointment was for 2:45 PM but I was asked to come in at 2:30 PM. I did not see the doctor and leave the office until after 3:30 PM. I do not think taking a patient into the back at an acceptable time and leaving them in a room for an undetermined amount of time acceptable.

The doctor was the best, but it bugs the stew out of me that I cannot get refills on my prescriptions. I cannot get anybody to talk to me and respond.

I have every confidence in Dr Lourie. My only complaint was I was his last patient of the day and I had to wait a long time, (my appt was @ 3:30, but wasn't over until between 5 & 5:30). I will not schedule another late afternoon appt again. I understand that sometimes a doctor can get behind depending on the patients scheduled before me.
