Dr. Lourie, a board-certified invasive cardiologist, was born and raised in Columbia, SC. He received his undergraduate and medical degree from Emory University. After training in internal medicine at Emory, he completed his cardiology fellowship at Tufts University/St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, MA. He is fully trained in cardiac catheterization, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and permanent pacemaker implantation.
Dr. Lourie is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of several medical societies.
Dr. Lourie has been in private practice in Cobb and Douglas counties since 1998. He is a past chief of staff of Wellstar Cobb Hospital and past chairman of the Department of Medicine from 2002-2008. He also is the chief of the cardiology section and sits on the Medical Executive Committee at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He is currently on staff at Wellstar Cobb, Douglas, Kennestone and Paulding hospitals.
When not enjoying the practice of medicine, Dr. Lourie finds great pleasure in spending time with his wife and three sons. He enjoys fitness/sports, reading, writing and gardening. On the rare occasion that time permits, he enjoys playing a round of golf.
