Dr. Akshar Y. Patel is a board-certified physician in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiovascular Tomography. He specializes in coronary artery disease, chest pain syndromes, shortness of breath, coronary angiography, angioplasty, high-risk percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), treatment and recovery from acute MIs (heart attacks), hypertensive heart disease, and critical care cardiology. Trained in cutting-edge cardiac procedures by experts from across the nation, Dr. Patel views all his patients as VIPs, making their concerns his top priority and ensuring they receive his undivided attention. He treats his patients like family and emphasizes communication as an integral part of the physician-patient relationship. 

A native of New Orleans, Dr. Reitman is a board certified cardiologist who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Washington University in St. Louis in 1991 and then earned a medical degree from Louisiana State University, New Orleans, in 1995. After completing an internship and residency in internal medicine at Tufts Affiliated Hospitals in Boston, MA, Dr. Reitman completed a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Brown University, Providence, R.I. After an Interventional Fellowship at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, completed 2002, Dr Reitman started clinic practice in Marietta , GA.

Instrumental towards bringing interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery to Cobb County, Dr Reitman has been a perennial high volume operator, and has played an integral role in the development of Complex PCI, Cardiogenic Shock and Structural Heart Teams for Wellstar Health Systems. Teaching activities have involved live rotational atherectomy courses and complex interventional courses for interventional physicians from around the country.Starting as a three-physician interventional group at one hospital, Dr Reitman helped grow an interventional program that now touches a broad geography across the Atlanta metropolitan area, represented by over 18 interventional physicians in 9 separate cardiac cath labs. He has served as the system level cardiac catheterization lab director since 2009.

Dr Reitman has been involved in a number of coronary and structural heart trials in collaboration with other Wellstar physicians, including trials involving the Synergy and Onyx platforms, the Edwards Sapien and Evolut valves. Reitman has been involved with the Georgia Chapter of the American College of Cardiology since his arrival in Atlanta in 2002 .

Dr. Mohammad Kooshkabadi, a cardiac electrophysiologist, received his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. He completed his internship and residency at Columbia University Medical Center and Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, New York. He completed his cardiology and his clinical electrophysiology fellowships at Emory University, Atlanta. He specializes in arrhythmia management, cardiac ablations, pacemaker implants including leadless pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, and biventricular implantable cardioverter defibrillators.

Dr. Piedad is a board-certified cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgetown University and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Piedad received his medical degree from the University of Rochester and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

He completed his residency in internal medicine at the New York University Medical Center and his fellowship training at the New York University Medical Center for cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology.

Dr. Piedad specializes in cardiac electrophysiology. His interests include complex arrhythmia management, permanent pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization devices, electrophysiologic studies, and ablations for cardiac arrhythmias: including ablation for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. He is particularly interested in ablation for atrial fibrillation.

He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society and the Cobb County Medical Society.
