Pediatric Emergency Services
Children and teens often feel more anxiety about visiting the doctor’s office or the hospital – especially in an emergency or after an accident. At Wellstar Cobb Medical Center, our specialized, kid-friendly Pediatric Emergency Department, equipped with child-sized medical equipment, is designed to ease their fears while we help them get better. We offer care that’s age-appropriate, featuring kid-sized blood pressure cuffs, mini-casts and height-matched crutches. Our Pediatric Emergency Department is housed in a separate area from the adult emergency department. Our team members and providers are trained to take care of our youngest patients with specialized pediatric emergency care. Please pay careful attention to any severe symptoms your child experiences, including high fever, pain, injury and chronic complications from illnesses such as diabetes or asthma. Take care of concerns like these with emergency care from a pediatric emergency physician at Wellstar Cobb.Wound Treatment and Burn Center
Wellstar Cobb Medical Center partners with Joseph M. Stills (JMS) Burn Centers, the largest burn center in the country, to offer specialized treatment and care for patients from across the Southeast with severe burns or complex wounds. Our multi-disciplinary team can serve patients with short- or long-term care either at our inpatient burn unit or on an outpatient basis. Our north tower burn unit offers 30 beds and treats a wide range of serious wound concerns for adults and children. Our Burn Center features specialized equipment like our hyperbaric chamber, designed to speed healing by increasing blood flow and oxygen supply to wounds while reducing swelling.Critical Care and Advanced Surgical Capabilities
