General CardiologyTo achieve your best level of heart health, we’ve assembled a team of experts in multiple areas of specialized care. Our physicians have the training and experience to provide coordinated, comprehensive care to address your heart condition.
Cardiac CatheterizationOur interventional cardiologists are experts in catheter-based heart procedures, which are minimally invasive. Instead of accessing the heart with a large chest incision, these treatments use arteries and veins to deliver targeted treatment. As a result, patients typically recover more quickly and experience fewer complications. These advanced procedures address many heart conditions, such as heart attacks and arrhythmia.
Percutaneous Cardiac Intervention (PCI)At Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital, our heart patients benefit from expert, minimally invasive techniques like Percutaneous Cardiac Intervention (stent placement), also known as PCI. PCI can be used to treat plaque buildup in the heart by opening clogged blood vessels without open chest surgery. Because traditional open heart surgery is not required, patients tend to recover faster and with better overall results.
Pacemakers and DefibrillatorsOur team specializes in the placement of advanced devices to treat heart rhythm disorders or arrhythmias. Implanted devices, including pacemakers and defibrillators, help patients with these heart concerns live active, healthy lives while worrying less about cardiac complications.
Cardioversion is a non-invasive treatment for dysrhythmia like atrial fibrillation. The goal is to restore regular heart rhythm by sending controlled electric shocks to the heart via electrodes placed on the chest. For many patients, this is a safe, effective method for treating heart rhythm disorders which does not require surgery. Medication may also be used to achieve the results of cardioversion.
Peripheral Vascular ServicesWellstar’s peripheral vascular care team helps people improve symptoms and stop the progression of peripheral vascular conditions. Our team will recommend the appropriate level of treatment for an individual. Personalized care plans may include lifestyle changes or minimally-invasive procedures by our highly skilled interventional cardiologists.
Other Heart ServicesOur program of care at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital includes other vascular services and diagnostics, as well, including blood clot intervention and treatments for poor blood flow.
Cardiovascular Behavioral MedicineOur cardiovascular behavioral medicine team empowers people with heart conditions to achieve their health goals, manage emotions related to their condition and help avoid rehospitalization. Sometimes low mood, panic, overwhelming emotions, difficulties with problem-solving or memory, frustration with making change, and chronic fatigue get in the way of progress. Our heart-focused behavioral health team members use scientifically-supported approaches to help people overcome these barriers. If you have a cardiac condition, have made a good-faith effort at change and are still struggling to achieve health goal success, a referral to one of our clinicians could help.
Our office is in Marietta but we offer virtual appointments depending on your preference and clinical needs.
