Volunteer at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital
Welcome to the Wellstar North Fulton Center Volunteers. We are ecstatic that you are interested in participating in serving your community through hospital volunteerism. We have new and exciting opportunities to engage volunteers with patients. Volunteers are essential to the services provided by Wellstar North Fulton and we appreciate your interest in becoming a part of our team.
Wellstar offers volunteer opportunities in a variety of settings within the hospital and your commitment to serving as a Wellstar Ambassador helps us to better serve our patients, their families, and guests. We thank you in advance for your interest to support our hospital and community as we continue to deliver world-class healthcare.
Please note the following before you apply:
- There are a limited number of slots to volunteer at Wellstar North Fulton. Part of our selection process depends on where an individual wants to volunteer and availability within the department.
- Volunteers must agree to a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks of volunteering, committing to a 4-hour shift per week.
- We do not allow court-mandated volunteer requests.
- Volunteers will be required to pay for their uniform ($20 polo shirt or $25 vest).
- Volunteers must submit a copy of the 2021-22 Flu shot and completed series of the covid-19 vaccination.
Volunteer shifts are 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM OR 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Sunday. Volunteers are asked to commit at least one (1) four hour shift each week for 12 consecutive weeks.
There are a series of steps that must be met before being accepted as a volunteer:
- Complete and submit the online Volunteer Application Form.
- After reviewing the application some will be called for a phone interview. Please note that all applications will not receive an interview, however all applicants will be notified of their application status within 7 business days of submission.
- Following an interview, should the volunteer be asked to onboard, you will receive via email, a Medical Release Form that must be signed by your physician. This form requests up-to-date immunization records and a signature from your doctor showing that you are physically and mentally able to volunteer in a hospital setting. Applicants born after 1957 must include immunization records for MMR, Chicken Pox and DTP. Please do not release any medical information until it is confirmed by the Volunteer Services Coordinator, that you have been accepted as a volunteer.
- A Background Check Release Form will be emailed to you for your signature.
- After receipt of the Medical Release Form and a cleared background check, you will be scheduled for an orientation/onboarding.
