If you're interested in an Observership/Shadowing, please email the Wellstar Academic Affairs department at [email protected]. Volunteer Services does not manage these student experiences. Volunteer assignments are based on the needs of the hospital staff. Please be aware that if you're accepted into the program, you will be assigned where you're needed the most. If you're unable to be flexible with your placement, please consider an opportunity elsewhere. If you're unable to attend the orientation in person, we cannot accept you into the program. The Winter College Program runs for 12 weeks. You are required to volunteer at least once a week for 9 weeks. Program timeline:- Winter program: February 2 - April 24, 2026
- Applications accepted through December 31, 2025
- Interviews: January 5-14, 2026 (possibly via Zoom or Teams)
- If selected, deadline for all required documentation*: January 16, 2026
- If selected, deadline for TB test: January 26, 2026 (provide proof if you've had a TB test within 1 year)
- If selected, mandatory Orientation: January 21st, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Summer College Program
The Summer College program runs for 8 weeks. You are required to volunteer at least once a week for 6 weeks. We're in the process of determining whether the shifts will be 2 or 4 hours. If you are interested in volunteering for summer only, you must complete the application, orientation and onboarding process* by May 31. If you are interested in year-round volunteering, you may apply at any time for consideration *Immunization records (required immunizations: 2 MMR, 2 Varicella, 1 Tdap, Flu), background check Dates are subject to change.Becoming a Wellstar Volunteer
