Dr. Uppalapati came to the United States from her native India in July 2000 to pursue her medical education. Upon completing her Fellowship in 2006 at Georgetown University Hospital, Dr. Uppalapati joined the cancer care team of Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers.
She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Cartersville Medical Center’s Cancer Committee. She also is actively involved in cancer research and clinical trials to find a cancer cure and provide her patients with the most advanced cancer treatment available in Georgia.

This type of treatment is difficult to understand for laymen. It would be better for doctors to speak slowly and clearly and let things sink in so patients can understand what is happening with their care. It would also be tremendously helpful for patients to receive a take home write up of what was discussed in plain language so they can take it all in, absorb and understand the information at their own pace.

The state-of-the-art cancer care facility promises greater access to advanced cancer treatments and improved convenience for patients in the Spalding community and surrounding areas.
Our facility now has tripled patient exam rooms and quadrupled infusion recliners to facilitate complex treatment that is requested by our cancer patients. We’ve also added support services, including an onsite compounding pharmacy and a clinical pharmacist available to help answer any questions.
