About Us
Our patients have access to the highest standard of care by highly experienced radiation oncologists who employ a range of advanced techniques and technologies. Wellstar radiation oncologists work as part of a greater multidisciplinary team including medical oncologists, surgical oncologists and surgeons in many specialties, genetic specialists and more. We believe in doing what’s best for each patient.
Multidisciplinary care
As a member of Wellstar Cobb Medical Center's cancer program, Radiation Oncology works closely with others in the other cancer specialty groups to deliver world-class care to every patient. The Radiation Oncology team at Wellstar Cobb also collaborates with team members focused on caring for patients with cancer, including dietitians, social workers, nurse navigators and a chaplain, in order to provide care for the patient’s body, mind and soul.

Many of our radiation oncologists are board-certified, achieving the highest level of training in the field. This means the people we treat can expect the highest standard of care. Additionally, our team is highly experienced, treating patients every day in our high-volume center. Cobb’s Radiation Oncology Department has recently received an award from Wellstar Cobb Medical Center's administrative leadership team for achieving the Maximum Patient Experience Satisfaction scores for FY20.
Stereotactic radiotherapy coming soon!
In 2021, the Cobb Radiation Oncology practice will begin offering stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic radiosurgery body treatments to patients. This technology delivers very high precision dosages with flexible treatment options, including the capability to change the size and shape of beams to mimic the tumor shape and minimize exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.
