About Cesar Egoavil, MD
Dr. Egoavil, a cardiac electrophysiologist, was born and raised in Chicago, Ill. He received two undergraduate degrees in microbiology and biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1994. He received a full scholarship to attend medical school at Loyola University Medical Center in 1998. After completing his internship and residency at Loyola University Medical Center, he completed his cardiology training at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center. He spent two years at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia completing his training in cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Egoavil received a master’s degree in business administration from Emory University Goizueta Business School in May 2008.
Dr. Egoavil is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. He joined Wellstar Cardiovascular Medicine in July 2005. He performs all aspects of pacemaker, defibrillator and resynchronization device therapy. His areas of special interests include electrophysiology studies, catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias: including atrial fibrillation, pacemakers and defibrillators.
Dr Egoavil is currently performing electrophysiology procedures at Wellstar Cobb and Kennestone hospitals and is on staff at Wellstar Paulding hospital. He speaks Spanish fluently.

Dr. Egoavil exemplifies exactly what I am looking for in a health care provider. Someone who is knowledgable, but does not talk over your head. Someone who visually shares the info gathered on you, to help you better understand your issues and possible solutions. Someone who offers advice based upon his findings, and recommendations based upon your quality of life goals. Someone who probes into your expectations going forward and clearly outlines workable solutions that will help meet those goals. Someone who does not push any particular solution, method, or procedure, but places the decision directly on your shoulders where it belongs. Someone who listens and answers all questions you may have. (There are a couple of questions I thought of after I left that I wish I had asked, but I have confidence in the advice he gave as I ponder decisions affecting my best path going forward.) It was just a great experience, meeting and talking to Dr. Egoavil. I've had other great experiences as well with WellStar doctors, including Dr. Allen, my cardiologist, but also some not so good. I believe it boils down to a person's personality and his/her ability to show empathy to the patient, which puts you at ease, feeling that you are not being rushed in and out of the appointment. I give Dr. Egoavil 5+ stars
