Wellstar Is Vaccinating Our Patients

Under direction by the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH), on January 11 Wellstar began vaccinating our patients age 65 or older who have seen a Wellstar Medical Group primary care provider within the last three years.

In the coming weeks, Wellstar will expand vaccination to include all patients age 65 and older who have been seen in the past three years by any Wellstar Medical Group provider.

How Does A Patient Get An Appointment?

People age 65 and older who have seen a Wellstar Medical Group primary care provider within the last three years have been notified via MyChart to schedule a vaccination.

Wellstar adds new dates and locations for vaccinations to MyChart regularly, so if you meet the current criteria and appointments are not available now, check back often.

To streamline the process we cannot accept walk-ins for vaccination.

Wellstar patients can set up a MyChart account.

COVID-19 Vaccine Waitlist Information

Wellstar has added a waitlist to MyChart so that patients can request an earlier appointment if a cancellation occurs.

Important note: Pay special attention to the location for waitlist appointments. They may not be in the same location as you have selected for your current appointment.

  • You may want to consider whether you want a sooner appointment at a location that is further away or your originally scheduled appointment that is closer to home.
  • If you choose the new appointment, your current one will be automatically canceled.

Keep Yourself and Others Safe

Getting vaccinated can be a crucial step in protecting yourself and others from COVID-19. However, receiving the COVID-19 vaccine is not a substitute for other precautions.

As we move forward into an era of hope and healing, it’s important to continue following safety measures:

  • Wear a mask correctly and consistently when around others.
  • Wash your hands frequently, and for at least 20 seconds.
  • Watch your distance from others in public places.
  • Avoid public gatherings, both large and small.
  • Use phones and video calls to visit virtually with co-workers, friends and loved ones.
  • Avoid unnecessary travel.
  • Ask for curbside pick-up and delivery for meals and shopping when possible.
  • Get your flu shot.
  • If you have any symptoms of illness, please stay home and isolate yourself to keep others safe.
