Dr. William “Kevin” Broyles is a Wellstar family medicine physician who specializes in urgent care medicine, health promotion and disease prevention.
While attending medical school, Dr. Broyles chose to focus on family medicine for a simple reason: to help people. He made it his mission to serve patients of all ages and learn about common diseases and illnesses they face.

Yes, hi, I was seen by Dr. William Broyles and his nurse. Wonderful, wonderful people. They took care of the issue right away. I had glass in my finger and he was able to take it out immediately and relieve me immediately of my pain that I was feeling once the glass was taken out. I did not feel any more pain. Amazing staff. I'm so thankful that I went to that visit. I would highly recommend Dr. Broyles and his nurse for anybody who needs urgent care, emergency care, any kind of care. They did an outstanding job. Thank you so much.

Do I Really Need an Antibiotic?
Antibiotics save lives by effectively treating bacterial infections, but they are ineffective against viral infections. At Wellstar Primary Care and Wellstar Urgent Care, our expert providers will evaluate your symptoms and tailor a care plan for your condition, including a prescription for the appropriate medication if needed.
Viral infections like colds, flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) or COVID-19 may require antiviral medications. However, if you’re diagnosed with an infection that has been caused by bacteria, such as strep throat or a urinary tract infection, an antibiotic can clear up the infection and help you feel better. Some bacterial infections can resolve without antibiotics, and your provider will work with you to determine your treatment plan.
While antibiotics are effective in treating bacterial infections, it’s important that you don’t take them if you don’t need them.
“Unnecessary antibiotic use can cause your body to build up resistance to them, which means they won’t be as effective when you do get an infection,” said Wellstar Urgent Care Physician Dr. William Broyles.
