Dr. Mordel received his medical training at Hadassah Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, graduating with a degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology. After coming to the United States, he completed a residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics and a fellowship in advanced pelvic surgery at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is an active fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
Dr. Mordel specializes in advanced robotic, laparoscopic, vaginal pelvic surgery, including for fibroids, endometriosis, heavy and/or painful menstrual periods, pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary incontinence.
Dr. Mordel has performed thousands of robotic and laparoscopic cases - over 5000 hysterectomies and myomectomies for uteri up to 4,500 grams (10 pounds). He has performed over 500 sacrocolpopexies and over 2000 excisions of endometriosis. His conversion rate is less than 0.1%. Certain complex cases require multispecialty participation - Dr. Mordel collaborates with robotically trained colorectal and urological surgeons.

I feel as though Dr. Mordel is a very wonderful doctor. I would highly recommend him. I came into the office quite overwhelmed, especially understanding what my new health care, or I'm sorry, not health care, what my new symptoms look like for my health. Him and his staff were very comforting, very understanding. Upon the first meeting, he's very cordial. He answered a lot of questions that I have. I currently now have, upon leaving the office, I do have a little bit more questions now that everything has kind of settled in for me, but nonetheless, I think Dr. Mordel is very great at what he does, very experienced, has wonderful bedside manners, and very soft-spoken and understanding, and truly wants to help women who are going through a lot of things in their life. I have only had one interaction on what I hope was a very bad day. After holding on a video call for 1 hour and 45 minutes, the system booted me off the call and the nurse had to reinstate my appointment to continue. After multiple attempts at video conferencing, Dr. Mordel elected to call me. After connecting telephonically, he immediately received a call and disconnected from me to take the other call. He called back 2 minutes later and after 2 hours of holding and no apology, we spoke for exactly 6 minutes. My questions were answered and he was polite; however, it was a less than positive experience for me.

He called back 2 minutes later and after 2 hours of holding and no apology, we spoke for exactly 6 minutes. My questions were answered and he was polite; however, it was a less than positive experience for me.

I feel as though Dr. Mordel is a very wonderful doctor. I would highly recommend him. I came into the office quite overwhelmed, especially understanding what my new health care, or I'm sorry, not health care, what my new symptoms look like for my health. Him and his staff were very comforting, very understanding. Upon the first meeting, he's very cordial. He answered a lot of questions that I have. I currently now have, upon leaving the office, I do have a little bit more questions now that everything has kind of settled in for me, but nonetheless, I think Dr. Mordel is very great at what he does, very experienced, has wonderful bedside manners, and very soft-spoken and understanding, and truly wants to help women who are going through a lot of things in their life. So I definitely think Dr. Mordel and his team, they're very professional.

The Robotic Alliance: Three Specialists, One Purpose
At Wellstar North Fulton Medical Center, something unique is happening in the world of minimally invasive surgery.
