Julie Nicholson, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who provides primary care for patients age 12 and older at Wellstar Primary Care in Woodstock, GA. She specializes in depression, anxiety, diabetes, medication management, weight management, and both men’s and women’s health.

Originally from Mississippi, Dr. Nicholson earned her medical degree and completed her residency training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She joined Wellstar in 2024 and has enjoyed making Georgia her new home while getting to know her patients and their families.

Dr. Nicholson takes great pride in treating every patient with respect and creating a comfortable environment where they can openly share their concerns. Her goal is to provide a stress-free experience that encourages shared decision-making and empowers patients to take an active role in their health. Brittany Smith, MSN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who provides primary care for patients age 12 and older in Woodstock, Georgia. She believes in caring for the whole person, not just the disease, and works closely with each patient to achieve both their short and long-term health goals.

Ms. Smith sees herself as a partner and guide on each patient’s health journey, creating a safe, supportive space for open communication. She enjoys discussing lifestyle modifications alongside medical treatment plans and has a particular passion for caring for patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Dedicated to lifelong learning, Ms. Smith stays current with the latest advances in medicine to provide the best possible care for her patients. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, exercising, spending time outdoors, and being with her family. She welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.

Timothy Hatt, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in family medicine. He provides primary care for patients age 18 and older in Woodstock, Georgia. Practicing since 2014, Tim takes a lifestyle-first approach to health and enjoys meeting patients where they are to help them achieve lasting wellness. Tim offers comprehensive family medicine services, including annual physicals, wellness visits, and preventive screenings. He also treats a variety of acute conditions, such as infections, rashes, and injuries, and regularly works with patients to support their mental health.

Tim earned his physician assistant degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). In addition to his work at Wellstar, he proudly serves as a physician assistant in the Georgia Army National Guard, with deployments to Afghanistan and Egypt.

Tim maintains memberships in the American Academy of Physician Associates, the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants, and the American Academy of Family Practice. In 2025, he was recognized by Wellstar as a Top Performer in Patient Experience.

In his free time, Tim enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, reading, exercising, and attending local theater productions. He welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.

Alexis Catlett, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who provides primary care for patients age 12 and older. She specializes in chronic disease management, obesity and weight management, and preventative care. Dr. Catlett is dedicated to providing personalized, community-focused care that supports the long-term health of adolescents and adults.

She earned her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in 2015 after completing a double major in biology and psychology at the University of Georgia. She then completed her family medicine residency with Navicent Health System.

Dr. Catlett is passionate about partnering with patients to help them take an active role in their health and achieve lasting wellness. She welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
