Dr Bowles is fantastic...he is thorough, patient, has a great bedside manner. And the nurses at the family medical practice were great. The lab technician, however, was terrible...she was impatient with the computer, and she didn't wear gloves while drawing blood. She wore a partial glove on one hand, but it had an exposed index finger, and she then used that same exposed finger to tap the artery before injecting the needle in the same spot she tapped. The lack of hygiene while drawing blood was absolutely concerning.

It would appear that your practitioners are overworked. I say this based on the amount of time it takes to SEE one. It took 3-4 weeks for me to get a followup appointment after an ER visit; my wife asked for a physical examination, and will not be seen until AUGUST of this year. That verges on unacceptability--and is the reason I would hesitate to recommend the practice and the health system to friends and family.

It is very hard to get into any appointment within 60 days, especially as a new patient or even as a follow-up. I've been very disappointed, even with WellSTAR's multiple locations and multiple doctors online. We couldn't get in very efficiently. I will give the front desk, the nursing, and the doctor staff points for being very congenial and friendly when we got there. Just not the most on time, I guess that's standard for doctors, and wasn't a holistic care provided for a teenager's changes. Didn't get a lot of alternate types of suggestions that kept us from using medicines immediately.
