About Thomas Chun, MD
Dr. Chun graduated from Emory University in Atlanta and received his medical degree from the University of Miami. He completed his general surgery residency at the Hospital of St. Raphael and his urology residency at Brady Urological Institute and Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Chun is board certified in Urology. He joined Urology Associates in 2003 and is currently on staff at the Marietta and East Cobb Health Park offices. Dr. Chun is committed to minimally invasive surgery and performs cutting-edge surgery using the daVinci Surgical System. He is a prominent thought-leader for robotic prostate and kidney surgery. He currently serves as a proctor for robotic-assisted surgery and has given a series of lectures on the benefits of the daVinci Surgical System.
Dr. Chun provides Interstim therapy for urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, urinary retention and fecal incontinence. He has over 10 years of extensive experience in therapy and has been a proctor for Interstim procedure since 2006. He offers the therapy at both the Kennestone Urology Procedure Center and Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

Dr. Chun is perfect. I'll have to say that I'm leery about going to doctors, but Dr. Chun made me think that going to a doctor is not as bad as I thought. In addition to being leery, I always thought that doctors wouldn't give you the best advice and would try to pacify your needs in order to make more money off of your concerns. Dr. Chun changed my whole thought process on this matter. I could trust this doctor. Thank you, Dr. Chun,

The visit to the doctor and the staff was fine, no question at all about that. The problem was when I got ready to check out, there was a real problem with the parking in terms of you're paying parking to get out and there's only one person to help you. And of course the person helping me, they didn't have change. So the fact of the matter, it was a problem. So that parking leaving is a real problem. So I'm not sure how you fix that, but it needs to be fixed. Thank you.

The urology assistant was a little cold but she was probably busy.And I do understand that. I will say you all sent a lot of reminders . I have finished checking in and you ask me to check in two and three times after that and I get three and four calls daily before my appointment, that's a little much.

I drove two hours through rush-hour rain to make my 9 AM appointment on time. The first thing the front desk staff said to me was, essentially, "you barely made it; four more minutes and we would have rescheduled you." That greeting set the tone for the visit. What followed was a 20-minute check-in process, and then an additional 20-minute wait before I was seen. For a practice that was ready to turn away a patient who drove two hours in the rain over a four-minute margin, the internal wait times felt like a significant disconnect between the standard applied to patients versus the standard held for staff. I understand that medical offices are busy and that delays happen. But a little grace at the front desk goes a long way - especially for patients who have clearly gone out of their way to be there.
