About Stephen Cox, DO
Dr. Cox's educational background includes undergraduate and graduate degrees in Physics from The University of Georgia, where he also participated in the thriving Athens music scene. He earned a doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from PCOM Georgia - the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine branch campus at Suwannee, GA. Finally, he completed three years at Atlanta Medical Center's Family Medicine Residency Program.
Professionally, Dr. Cox maintains membership with the American Academy of Family Physicians, which has been his primary source of continuing medical education since graduating from residency.

I like Dr. Cox which is why I have continued to see him. The lady at the front desk that helped me was also nice. Having said that, I can not stand visiting this facility and dealing with wellstar. I feel like I'm in a factory due to it feeling like such an impersonal experience (outside of dealing with Dr. Cox). It feels like it's a business (which I realize it is, but it shouldn't feel that way), with no sense of warmth. It's also ridiculous that I have to book my appointment outrageously far in advance, yet I didn't see anyone until 30 minutes after my appointment time (and I arrived 15 minutes early). I didn't time it, but after the nurse, I'd guess I waited another 20+ minutes before Dr. Cox arrived. All-in-all, it's a terrible experience. This was a regular check-in, but every time I visit I just hope I never have a serious medical issue where I'll actually need to depend on this company and facility.

The nurse that took my blood samples was terrible. I mean, the three, four, attentive, and it just basically told her, stop, I'll go get it done somewhere else. So whoever that was, they need to speak with her, have her practice from blood draw samples.

My provider has always been incredibly, wonderfully responsive. He's a great guy and I know he cares deeply about his patients. The only drawback that I would have with the system is that sometimes it's hard to get on MyChart and to log in and do whatever, all that blah, blah, blah stuff that you have to do to get on there. But my provider, Dr. Cox, is incredible and I would highly recommend him to anybody.
