Dr. Seena Safavy is a board certified urologist who works with the Wellstar Medical Group. Dr. Safavy grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. He subsequently went to Auburn University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. He then went on to the University of Alabama School of Medicine to attain his Doctor of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship/residency and urology residency training with Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, California. Given his passion for minimally invasive/robotic urology and urologic oncology, he went on to complete a fellowship in urologic oncology and robotics at the highly esteemed Saint John’s Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, California.
Although Dr. Safavy has expertise in robotics and urologic oncology, he does also focus heavily on general urology and treats patients with a wide variety of benign urologic conditions. Dr. Safavy’s approach to medicine involves utilizing compassionate care and patient education with the goal of optimizing a patient’s overall health. While advanced medical therapies and surgical expertise are central to his urologic practice, Dr. Safavy believes that many conditions can be prevented – or their impact greatly reduced – through healthy lifestyle choices. He is deeply committed to guiding his patients towards habits that promote lifelong wellness, and he approaches patient education and counseling not as a formality, but as a vital personal investment in both physical/mental health and overall quality of life.
When he is not working, Dr. Safavy enjoys exercising, weight training, hiking, watching sports, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

The nurse was very professional, washing her hands when she entered the room took my blood pressure gave me an ultrasound took down notes for the doctor and then the next thing I knew the doctor was coming in for the visit.
