Dr. Fidahussein earned his bachelor’s degree from University of South Carolina and his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. He completed his internship and residency at Maimonides Medical Center in New York, and completed fellowships in Critical Care Medicine (Yale University School of Medicine), Pulmonary Medicine (Norwalk Hospital) and Hospital Internal Medicine (Mayo Clinic College of Medicine).
He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He has notable achievements in the Quality Academy with Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Minnesota, and received the Board of Directors Award from Norwalk Hospital. He was awarded the Physician Quality award at Wellstar and currently serves as the Medical Director for the Pulmonary Medicine, Pulmonary Rehab Medicine, Lung Cancer Screening Program and Home Health Care department at West Georgia. Dr. Fidahussein currently also serves as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at West Georgia.
