My experience with Nidah Khakoo at Wellstar Gastroenterology - Cherokee Health Park was absolutely phenomenal. After having a very different experience with another provider recently, seeing her genuinely felt life-changing. I had done a lot of research and came prepared with questions, concerns, and a detailed history of what I had been experiencing. Instead of dismissing that or making me feel like I was overthinking things, she acknowledged it, validated my concerns, and truly listened. She would ask questions, remember details I had mentioned earlier, and circle back to make sure everything was addressed. She made sure every question I had was answered before the visit was over. I never felt rushed. What meant the most to me was that she respected my desire to take a conservative approach first rather than immediately jumping to an endoscopy. She listened to what I was comfortable with, explained her reasoning, performed a thorough physical examination, and worked with me to develop a plan that I felt comfortable following. After having a very different experience with another provider recently, seeing her genuinely felt life-changing. From the moment she walked in, she was warm, charismatic, kind, and incredibly attentive. I had done a lot of research and came prepared with questions, concerns, and a detailed history of what I had been experiencing. Instead of dismissing that or making me feel like I was overthinking things, she acknowledged it, validated my concerns, and truly listened. She would ask questions, remember details I had mentioned earlier, and circle back to make sure everything was addressed. She made sure every question I had was answered before the visit was over. I never felt rushed. What meant the most to me was that she respected my desire to take a conservative approach first rather than immediately jumping to an endoscopy. She listened to what I was comfortable with, explained her reasoning, performed a thorough physical examination, and worked with me to develop a plan that I felt comfortable following. As a woman, there have been times when I have felt that my symptoms or concerns were not fully understood or taken seriously in healthcare. I did not feel that way for one second with Nidah. She looked me in the face, listened to what I was saying, believed what I was experiencing, and treated me like an active participant in my own care. I am incredibly thankful that I found her. Her kindness, compassion, thoroughness, and willingness to truly listen made such a difference for me. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a gastroenterology provider who genuinely cares about her patients and takes the time to understand the whole picture. I just want to say that my appointment today gave me hope. She really listened to what has been going on with me, gave me a treatment plan, and really made me feel like there was hope and life outside of my condition. One of the best gastrointestinal doctors I have seen.
