About Li Liu, MD
Dr. Li Liu received his medical degree from Tianjin Medical University and his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from The University of Eastern Finland.
He completed his neurology residency and clinical neurophysiology fellowship at The State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, New York. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology.
Dr. Liu is currently in practice with WellStar Neurology and Headache Center.
Prior to his neurology residency, Dr. Liu worked as a research fellow at The Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and the Aging Brain, Columbia University Medical Center, New York. His research on the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease and related neurodegenerative diseases led to a total of 21 research publications, including articles published in highly prestigious journals, such as Nature Neuroscience, and Nature Communication. In 2009, Dr. Liu received New Investigator Award from The Alzheimer’s Association

Dr. Liu was very nice and very attentive. He seemed very compassionate and caring about getting to the root of the problem that I was having. We still haven't figured out what's going on, but he seems very dedicated. If there was one thing I would just recommend, it would just be just a little bit more direction from him on what we're going to do next. He seems like a very smart man and very set on what he intends to do, but sometimes I think that needs to be communicated to the patient so the patient can be on the same page with him. Otherwise, he's a great provider and I look forward to continuing to work with him.

The doctor told me to have vitamin B12 injections weekly for 4 weeks and then switch to monthly, but the receptionist refused to do that. She said monthly only so I left very confused.
