About Li Liu, MD
Dr. Li Liu received his medical degree from Tianjin Medical University and his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from The University of Eastern Finland.
He completed his neurology residency and clinical neurophysiology fellowship at The State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, New York. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology.
Dr. Liu is currently in practice with WellStar Neurology and Headache Center.
Prior to his neurology residency, Dr. Liu worked as a research fellow at The Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and the Aging Brain, Columbia University Medical Center, New York. His research on the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease and related neurodegenerative diseases led to a total of 21 research publications, including articles published in highly prestigious journals, such as Nature Neuroscience, and Nature Communication. In 2009, Dr. Liu received New Investigator Award from The Alzheimer’s Association

At first, I really didn't want to be there, you guys know, but the outcome with Dr. Li Liu and his medical assistant and the front desk lady was perfect. I would recommend the whole world come to you guys. And I really love Dr. Li Liu because he took the time out to pay attention to me out of all of the patients that he had and my situation and the care and I wasn't rushed and he talked to me. He communicated with me. He made sure I understood my situation, the seriousness of it, and everything. So the whole overall experience and appointment was beautiful for me because it taught me something. And thank you guys. Bye.

Dr. Liu was very patient and understanding. He took the time to thoroughly explain things and reviewed MRI scans in detail. He gave suggestions above and beyond the medical, such as what type of TV to get for my mother with late onset Alzheimer's Dementia. He took the time to answer the many questions we had about our mother's diagnosis and managing her condition. We had previously seen a different Neurologist and were unhappy with the interaction. It took a lot of effort to get an appointment with Dr. Liu's office because initially I was told they would not take patients that had been to another Wellstar Neurologist. However, it was well worth the effort. We were extremely please with Dr. Liu and look forward to working with him on our mother's on-going care.

There is nothing that can be done from my understanding. Therefore meds is the only answer and to continue to exercise . The pain is real.
