Dr. Jonathan Li earned a Bachelor of Science and Engineering with distinction from Duke University. He went on to the University of Michigan Medical School, where he earned his Medical Degree and Master of Science in Clinical Research. Following medical school, Dr. Li completed his residency at Emory University Hospitals. At Emory, he received intensive training in robotic surgery, urological cancers, urinary continence, kidney stone disease, and men’s health.
Dr. Li is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He treats patients across a wide spectrum of urological conditions. His clinical interests include da Vinci robotic surgery, urological cancers, erectile dysfunction, kidney stone disease, no-scalpel vasectomy, and procedures for enlarged prostate (including Urolift).
Dr. Li has published research in several journals, including Urology, Urology Oncology, and Annals of Surgical Oncology. In addition, he has presented at numerous conferences, including the Georgia Urological Association, American Urological Association (Southeastern and National sections), and Association for Clinical and Translational Science.
Dr. Li grew up in New England and is an avid Celtics fan. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends in his spare time.

Dr. Li was very kind; however, he appeared unprepared for my appointment and had not reviewed my chart beforehand. He initially recommended a plan of care that included ultrasounds I had already completed and relied on a two-week-old urinalysis, despite the fact that I provided a new urine sample at the start of my appointment. After I informed him that the ultrasound had already been done, he revised his plan. Similarly, it was only after I pointed out that I had given a new urine sample that he checked the results of the dip test. I also had to advocate for my urine sample to be sent for further laboratory analysis, as I expressed that having the most up-to-date information is especially important when more invasive procedures are being considered, such as the one he recommended. While I believe Dr. Li is knowledgeable and likely very capable, his lack of preparation during my visit made me uncomfortable moving forward with a procedure under his care.
