About John Nino, MD
Dr. Nino received his Doctorate of Medicine from the National University of Athens in Athens, Greece. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Dr. Nino completed his internship in General Surgery at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr. Nino also conducted research at the University of Nevada and Stanford University and co-authored two articles that are published in the annals of the Journal of Surgery.
Prior to joining Wellstar Medical Group, Dr. Nino assisted in establishing a successful, hospital-sponsored ear, nose, and throat (ENT) practice in Hawkinsville, GA. While in Hawkinsville, Dr. Nino was Chairman of Safety for one year and Chairman of the Surgical Committee for five years. He is a four-time recipient of the America’s Top Physicians Award.
Dr. Nino is board certified in otolaryngology. He performs the full scope of general ENT procedures. His professional interests are in endoscopic sinus surgery and sleep apnea. He sees pediatric and adult patients. Dr. Nino is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Nino is also a member of the Georgia Society of ENT.

They went above and beyond to examine why my hearing is not real good. They put me in for sound testing to determine why one ear is ok and the other ear is marginal. They are going to do a MRI to see what that shows.

I had a terrible experience under the care of Dr. John Nino. He was dismissive and very rude. I was pleading to him about a health problem I have been experiencing for years to the point where I was almost in tears. His response was "to just ignore it". I never felt so unheard in my life by a medical professional. As a widely known public health professional who actually teaches a course on medical communications, I was absolutely appalled. I will be notifying the medical board about my experience because this was completely unacceptable. From the moment he walked into the room, he was dismissive and telling me that what I was experiencing was "incorrect". When I proceeded to tell him about another issues I was experiencing, he also dismissed it and suggested that I was "chewing on chicken bones" which is a very concerning comment. In fact, it felt like a micro aggression. Finally, let me just say that I was really looking forward to this appointment. I thought I was going to finally get the support I needed. I left that appointment feeling defeated and depressed which is not how anyone should leave a doctors appointment. Even if he didn't have all the answers, there is no excuse for his lack of compassion and empathy. I hope the doctor reads this and makes a significant effort to make improvements.
