About Joel Wachs, MD
Dr. Wachs received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, after completing a six-year Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Medicine program. He completed his residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital in New York and completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Wachs practiced cardiology in South Bend, Ind., from 1984 until 2004, where he was medical director of cardiology at Memorial Hospital. Since February 2004, he has been with Wellstar Medical Group, Cardiovascular Medicine where he serves as medical director. He is currently on staff at Wellstar Cobb, Douglas and Kennestone hospitals.
Dr. Wachs is a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the College of Chest Physicians. He is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and has a particular interest is congestive heart failure.

Yes, Dr. Wax has been my provider for numerous, numerous years. And I trust him with the health that I have today is excellent because of him. And also, previously, he treated my wife. And we could not, could not ever complain about the service we received from Dr. Wax. He is a world star. Other doctors can learn from his professionalism. As for the front office, they were exceptional. From the moment I walked in, they greeted me, they welcomed me with a good morning, they asked for my name, my date of birth, could not be happy with the service of the two people that were sitting at the front desk. Even the NURFing staff that came out to take me back to the treatment room, the service there was excellent. I could not in any way, shape or form have a bad comment about the reception I have received, not just this time, But every time I've gone to see Dr. Wexler,
