Dr. Sifuentes graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago and completed his internal medicine residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Following his gastroenterology clinical research fellowship at NorthShore University Health System, he went on to complete his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Augusta University. Dr. Sifuentes is an expert inflammatory bowel disease researcher and clinician who stays on the cutting edge of the latest treatment strategies and therapies. In addition to providing comprehensive care for his patients, special attention is dedicated to colon cancer prevention, evaluation and management of nutritional issues and health maintenance interventions. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American College of Physicians and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. He is fluent in Spanish and board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

Yes, my daughter's physician is amazing. Always amazing. He's great with children. He's great with communication. I would say that anybody that y'all bring in that is an assistant or whatever, resident, remind them that they're going to have children or individuals with all kinds of disabilities, disorders, or mental illness. They need to be able to adjust and understand them. They were friendly, but one, I want to say resonant or new doctor, Asian, young. I was told she's new, but she's acting a little kind of resilient, didn't want my daughter to touch her who's nonverbal, and the only way she communicated was patting. They need to understand that they're going to have that type of individual come in their life, so they need to learn how to adjust and still be able to adapt to it. Thank you.
