About Hanna Akiki, MD
He completed his internship and residency at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, NY where he was also elected to be the chief medical resident for a year. He completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at the State University of NY at Brooklyn.
Dr Akiki entered private practice in 2001. He has been practicing in Cobb and Douglas counties since 2007 with The Heart Clinic and Emory Heart and Vascular.
He Joined in Wellstar in Nov 2014 and he is currently on staff at Cobb, Douglas, Kennestone, and Paulding hospitals.
Dr Akiki is board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine and in Nuclear Cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of cardiology.
When he is not busy taking care of his patients, Dr Akiki enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family.

I had a really great experience with the provider. He was able to empathize and sympathize with me about what I was dealing with. I feel like he has my best interest in mind about what I'm going through and I did not feel rushed. I did not feel like I couldn't be honest about how I was feeling. Yes, the doctor was very attentive and listened to everything I had to say, was very thorough in going over past history and explaining results of tests I had taken several years ago that I had forgotten about or didn't know. Was very thorough, went over everything with me, scheduled a follow-up for a stress test. The only thing that I would mention is that he did not say when I should follow up after the stress test or if I should at all. So the person who was scheduling scheduled a stress test but didn't have any notes in her chart as to if I should come back for a follow-up visit or if it was just going to be a phone call about the stress test results. That would be the only thing that I would mention.

Dr. Akiki fully explained my condition and the status of further treatment. I appreciated the explanation of my tratment. The staff was very nice and courteous in greeting me and handling scheduling .

Typically too much wait time....I arrived 15 minutes early and Doctor appeared 45 minutes after the scheduled time. Not the first time....Even at a hospital procedure. At my age , I feel my time is being stolen. Attention and answering my questions is appreciated but frustration continues over consistent tardiness.
