Dr. Msangi received his associates in biology from Waldorf College in Forest City, IA, and his bachelor’s in biology from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. He received his medical degree from Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minn. He completed his general surgery and urology residency at Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Mich. In his spare time Dr. Msangi volunteers his skills internationally providing urologic care in areas of need. He enjoys cooking, travelling and outdoors activities. Dr. Msangi is currently practicing with Wellstar Urology.

Dr. Msangi consultation was, for me, a transition from high-anxiety, data-starved uncertainty to a collaborative, reassuring partnership. The experience was defined by his ability to recognize and adapt to my analytical cognitive style, which was essential for building a trust relationship. Initially, I felt alienated by a lack of transparency from previous care, leading to significant distress regarding a prostate lesion. Dr. Msangi willingness to provide a comprehensive "data dump"-explaining PSA dynamics, PI-RADS scoring, and the distinction between cancer and clinically significant cancer-directly addressed my need for information to regain a sense of agency. Furthermore, Dr. Msangi successfully navigated my psychological state by identifying my need for control as a coping mechanism. By gently challenging this need while simultaneously validating my desire for data, Dr. Msangi shifted the focus from an impossible demand for absolute certainty to a manageable, evidence-based monitoring plan. This approach transformed my perception of the diagnosis from a terrifying, binary threat into a nuanced, monitored condition, ultimately leaving me feeling calm and empowered to make future decisions. The front desk was so welcoming and friendly as great customer service is rare nowadays so it was nice to have a staff treat you with care and kindness, that was from check in to check out, awesome experience. Dr. Msangi listened to my concerns, understood and gave me a course of action that we should take. I feel confident that he will do the best for me and does this with all of his patients.

Dr. Gaspar Msangi did not show much of a concern for my appt. I was required to pay $100 copay and was only given more antibiotics. I felt like it was other things he could have done to help me feel more relaxed about my current issue.. My appt was less than 20 mins.. So disappointed

Absolute joke. The doctor was in the room less than 2 minutes and didn't care anything about what I had to say about my symptoms. He rolled his eyes the entire time and just told me to come back in 6 weeks if I wasn't happy

I left very unsatisfied . I felt he was not listening and was not empathetic to what I was going through. So much so I requested another doctor. He actually said thank you I agree that it's best I refer you to someone else. He asked me a few questions and walked me to the scheduler to be with another doctor on my future visits.
