About Ernesto Hernandez, MD
A native of Caguas, Puerto Rico, Dr. Hernandez received his undergraduate degree from University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras and attended medical school at Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico. He completed his internal medicine residency in the Veteran Administration Medical Center in San Juan, and his Cardiovascular Disease fellowship in Ponce School of Medicine Damas and Saint Luke Hospital. Dr. Hernandez also completed a proctorship in interventional cardiology at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center part of BJC Healthcare. He then went on to complete his nuclear cardiology training at Emory University in Atlanta.
Dr. Hernandez is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. His special interests include general cardiology, Invasive, and Interventional Cardiology.
Dr. Hernandez joined Wellstar Medical Group, Cardiovascular Medicine in January 2011 after being part of the Atlanta Heart Center since 2002 where he was a founding physician. He is currently on staff at Wellstar Kennestone hospital.

I always have a good experience when I go see my doctor. He's a very good doctor. The staff is nice. I'm treated with respect and I wouldn't change doctors unless I had to go somewhere else because he sent me somewhere else for a reason. But I will keep him as my doctor because he's very good, he's very accurate, and he's a good personality. He don't rush and he's polite and he's a good doctor. And I would recommend him to anybody.

He has helped me through different stages of dealing with atrial fib and installing a punch man procedure and being able to get me on a CPAP, being able to control the AFib medication and now hopefully with this device. So it has been awesome to be able to have him. I'm very grateful that I'm able to be his patient.
