I only came in to confirm my pregnancy, so there wasn't much to talk about. My husband and toddler were allowed to join me so I liked that. Emily is a midwife so o do feel that she was more open to talking about a couple supplements and natural remedies my husband and I wanted to talk about. It's unlikely that I would have been just as open to talking about black seed oil with a traditional medical doctor who didn't at least have the support of CNMs. Basically, I'm very optimistic based on the first visit to the practice (reception area and check out included) but I can't give a 10/10 because I haven't had more experience(s) than just one or two.

I expressed concerns about my increasing pain from working on my feet for 40 plus hours a week. While she did listen, I don't feel as if she was empathetic about the issues I was having. When someone says they are practically in tears everyday after leaving work because they are in pain, they don't want to hear suck it up it's part of pregnancy. She said it nicer than that, but she kept saying your job could fire you they don't have to keep you. I wasn't asking to be completely put out of work, I was asking if at some point I could get a recommendation to lessen the amount of hours and time spent on my feet. I work in a warehouse walking 5 plus miles a shift going up and down ladders its all a lot. I feel like while she was nice I was not being heard on my concerns. My job is not going to fire me if I have to be out of work for pregnancy. I have 12 weeks left, I want to work as long as I can I was just asking for advice and should at some point I be concerned about the amount of pain my body is experiencing from working.
