Dr. Holtz earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Georgia and his Doctorate of Medicine from University of Texas – Houston Medical School. Before joining Wellstar, Dr. Holtz completed his fellowship in hand surgery at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn. Prior, he was a resident physician in general surgery at Emory School of Medicine in Atlanta. Dr. Holtz is board certified in Hand and General Surgery.
In his spare time, Dr. Holtz enjoys running, swimming, World War II history and college football.

I checked in at 9:10; called back at 9:15; Doctor Holtz entered room around 9:30ish; chatted for 5-10 mins... Cut & dry, no smile, hand shake or proper greeting... He asked where I was from; was I born and raised in Acworth GA; and where did I work. He never touch nor examined the cyst on my hand. Dr. Holtz informed me that he couldn't drained the cyst on my hand; that it was wrapped around the tendon, and that it would have to be shaved or chopped off during surgery, but even then it couldn't be removed fully. He said he'd performed a surgery like that before if I'd like to try it. I said, No thanks. I've tried surgery years back and it didn't work. That I wasted a lot of money on it. He emphasized that he couldn't drain it. And that ended the conversation. He opened the door and I said Thank you, and he said ok.

If you expect your patient to be on time, the provider should also be expected to be on time. There was a very long wait in the lobby for provided service.

Yes, I wanted to say that everybody at the office from the front desk to the Dr. Holtz himself was very well, played their roles very well and I could not complain about anything. Dr. Holtz was very informative and helped me greatly and I'll definitely recommend them and I'll definitely be back and I do appreciate everybody there. Thank you.

The only issue I have is having to wait so long you're scheduled for your appointment. I understand things happen but still that's inconsiderate. I don't know what it is. I arrive early but I have to wait because there was an issue with a prisoner. That's not my fault I have zero tolerance for stuff like that

I had a 10:15am appointment, arriving at 10am. I was told the doctor was running behind 45 minutes. 15 minutes OK but I was surprised close to ah hour before 10am. I sat down and an hour and a half later at 12:45pm, I was called back to the exam room. I understand you never known what walks in the door, things can happen and staff get delayed. My issue is, in the three days leading up to my appointment, I received no fewer than four text & emails. Having worked in medical information systems, no doubt the computer kicked those off. In this case, staff knew before I arrived, they were backed up almost a hour. You have my email, you have my cell number, you sent txt and emails reminded four times of my appointment. Have staff use that same technology to inform patients when staff is that far behind. It's as if there is no regard for patients' time. I had to reschedule and cancel some plans for the morning.

He said he'd performed a surgery like that before if I'd like to try it. I said, No thanks. I've tried surgery years back and it didn't work. That I wasted a lot of money on it. He emphasized that he couldn't drain it. And that ended the conversation. He opened the door and I said Thank you, and he said ok.
