Beena Parbhu, MD

I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Parbhu and her office staff. My frustration comes with the scheduling process, the fact that it's centralized and I can't speak to someone directly in the office in order to schedule an appointment. I've had to in the past go to an urgent care because I was unable to get in for a sick visit on the same day despite calling early in the morning. And when I don't get a chance to talk to someone in the office, the communication feels a bit disjointed. I much preferred it when I called and could talk to someone sitting in the office.

I arrived for my sons 9:30 appointment at 9:15. Went to counter to check in for the appointment, provided the updated insurance, signed the necessary documents and was given the wrist band to scan in case any medications needed to be administered. We were directed to sit to the left of the check in desk. We watched other families check in after us and those same families be called back. At 10am, 30 minutes after our appointment and 45 minutes after we checked in I went to the front desk to inquire what was taking so long for my sons appointment to start. I was told I was a no call no show. It wasn't until I showed the medical band that the staff realized we in fact were not a no call no show. Every other office staff I've seen when a patient does not show up calls them to check in. Had they done this they would have realized more quickly that there was an issue and realized we were in fact sitting in the waiting room. In total from the time we arrived to finally getting into the car to leave was nearly 2 hours. I knew my son was going to miss an about an hour of school, but two hours? The back office staff was very apologetic and worked to quickly get my son seen. It is evident the front office staff needs further training to ensure every patient is treated appropriately.

Dr. Beena Parbhu is amazing at what she does. She's always been amazing. That's the reason we keep on coming to her for the last seven to eight years. My issue is with the front staff. There is no non sensitivity. Every time you come in, there's a new person, and that really bothers. They do not know how to greet. They are not at all helpful. And it's really, really hard to make a connection with them. I think it's more about having the right admin staff for the front desk. Thank you.

My daughter's doctor was pretty good, but her nurse was kind of bad because she reacted like a crazy person when we were taking a vision for my daughter, and she could not recognize for the first line of a shape because it was not a normal shape, common shape. So I reminded her, she reacted to say, you could not tell her, we need to stop here. I was very shocked. She gave me the feeling she would quit. She wouldn't take the mention of the shape name to her, to my daughter. That's it.

This visit was for my eight year-old and they spoke to him and asked him the questions to allow him to talk about his own health. Dr. Prabhu listens to the patient and she gives good suggestions and she does not rush to give antibiotics or any medicine. She handles the situation based on how it looks per day. Even if I have to go back to her again and again, I'm fine with it as long as she's not reaching conclusions without evidence. So that is the best part about Dr. Prabhu, that she analyzes and identifies if it really needs treatment or just needs to be watched.
