Today's visit was my first with Dr. Berardi and I am very pleased with the care I received! He asked questions to get a complete understanding of my condition(s), he listened very patiently to my responses; he also made notes and he explained about my HOCM and used visual aids to ensure I understood fully. We even shared a laugh about how excited my cardiologist was to be able to include me in the trials of Camzyos. He has excellent communication and customer service skills. I was very nervous about a male assuming the role of my primary care doctor, but he addressed all of my concerns and I am happy to say I'm in excellent hands!

This visit was with my primary doctor, Anthony Berardi, who just graduated and is an excellent doctor. We have been working together for a little over 2 years. Before he became my Primary, I had doctors coming and going (which were great experiences), but when I brought up the subject of his longevity of staying at Wellstar, he surprised me when gave me the great news. I thought it was going to be a sad story about him leaving, however, he informed me that he would still be my doctor! This is great news because I won't have to break in another new one. Dr Berardi is a blessing to me. He once made a simple suggestion that I switch my GLP from Trulicity to Mounjaro because I would probably lose more weight. At the time, I was working so hard at dropping over 100 pounds. I didn't care for the suggestion so I passed. As I continued my weight loss journey, Dr Berardi brought up Mounjaro again. I quickly agreed. I didn't hesitate because it hit me that HE'S THE DOCTOR and he wouldn't bring this back up for no reason. Oh, my goodness was he right! Pounds started coming off ! When I met Dr Berardi my weight was 330. I'd just lost 14 pounds before he became my Primary. Now, I weigh 227. That's a total loss of 117 from 344 pounds. My goal, with Dr Berardi's help, is to reverse Diabetes beginning with maintaining my last A1C which was 5.1. We are on our way!!!
