Wellstar Hand Surgery

Justin Kunes, MD is board certified in pediatric orthopedic surgery and hand surgery. He joined Wellstar in October 2019 after being in private practice in Metro Atlanta for five years and serving for three years at Piedmont in Covington. He is highly committed to the Wellstar mission and has dual fellowship training in both pediatric orthopedics and adult and pediatric hand surgery. He has cared for pediatric trauma patients through Egleston Children's Hospital and continues to maintain a collegial relationship with his fellow surgeons as an affiliate staff member at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Many children can be treated in their own communities without travelling downtown and Dr. Kunes provides that by conducting surgeries at Wellstar North Fulton and Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center. Hand injuries happen, and when they do, patients need guidance on how to care for them promptly. Treatment ranges from emergent stabilization at our acute care hospitals to outpatient management. Dr. Kunes and his staff treat every patient as an individual in the context of their life with specialized treatment plans.
