Regarding Friday Health Plans

Wellstar was recently informed that Friday Health Plans of Georgia, Inc., a Health Insurance Exchange plan, will close as of July 31, 2023.

Friday Health Plans of Georgia, Inc. was initially placed into administrative supervision on March 8, 2023, by consent order from the Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire to attempt to cure its financial deficiency. However, it was determined there was no path to solvency for the health plan, and the decision was ultimately made to cease operations.

Wellstar was advised that Friday Health Plans has sent official communication to inform Georgia patients of their coverage ending date. All impacted patients will have a special enrollment period from June 1, 2023, through September 29, 2023, during which you may select different insurance coverage. As a reminder, Wellstar continues to accept the following HIE plans:

• Ambetter Core and Wellstar Select
• CareSource HIE
• Cigna HIE
• Oscar Health Plan HIE
