Shawn Mathews, MD

Dr. Mathews is a caring and competent physician. My only complaint is the time spent waiting for the doctor after being taken to the exam room. My appointment was at 11. I arrived at 10:45 as requested. The wait time in the waiting area was reasonable and I was taken to the exam room by the appointment time of 11:00. However, it was around 11:40 before Dr. Mathews came to the room for the examination. I feel this is a bit excessive. At the very least, there should be a system for notifying patients that the doctor is behind and how long a wait is expected. This would alleviate the fear of being forgotten and the frustration of waiting without knowing what to expect. Once Dr. Mathews entered the room he was kind, considerate, and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. Overall I am pleased with this provider. Just would like a more reasonable wait time.
