About Nilay Patel, MD
Dr. Patel received his medical degree from Albany Medical College. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, Irvine. He subsequently completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at Keck Medicine of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Computer systems at check in were terrible. Could not find insurance, said our policy was not valid with United Healthcare. Previous day Wellstar scheduling line had confirmed everything with UH but obviously the Wellstar systems do not talk at all. The whole ordeal made for an awful experience. Also, found the policy very strange that you cannot choose your doctor, but forced to go the doctor I saw once years ago for unrelated problem. The doctor was very helpful today, but the policy makes no sense in terms of customer service.
