Erin Dexter, MD

Dr. Dexter is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She completed her general psychiatry residency at Medical College of Georgia followed by a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Dexter was an attending physician on a forensic psychiatric unit at East Central Regional Hospital in Augusta and has collaborated in re-establishing a forensic psychiatry fellowship with Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Dexter serves as director of emergency psychiatric services for Wellstar, affiliated with Medical College of Georgia. She enjoys clinical teaching, working with residents and students from the departments of Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry. She continues to serve as a forensic consultant in a variety of civil and criminal proceedings through the Medical College of Georgia Forensic Institute and offers an elective experience for general psychiatry residents to gain exposure to the field of forensic psychiatry.
