If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call your provider’s office promptly, so that this time can be reallocated to someone who is equally in need of care. If you must cancel your scheduled appointment, we require that you call at least 48 hours in advance if you are seeing a specialist. Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will give another person access to that appointment time. A late cancellation is when a patient fails to cancel a scheduled appointment with 48-hours’ advanced notice for specialty care.
To cancel appointments, please call your healthcare provider’s office, or utilize MyChart’s “Appointments – Cancel an Appt” function.
A no-show is someone who misses an appointment without cancelling it at least 48 hours for a specialty visit. Failure to be present at the time of a scheduled appointment, or arriving 15 minutes or more after your scheduled appointment, will be recorded as a no-show. Patients may be subject to dismissal from the practice on the third occurrence of a missed appointment or no-show, or a combination of either.
Our physicians have privileges at Wellstar Cobb, Kennestone and North Fulton hospitals. Some of our surgeons also perform surgery at Wellstar East Cobb, Vinings and Acworth health parks.
Wellstar Joins Panel Discussion on Diversity & Inclusion
Dr. Jeffrey F. Hines, medical director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Health Equity, served as a panelist during the Georgia Chamber Diversity and Inclusion Summit held Nov. 18, 2020. The panel discussed how, in the wake of COVID-19, healthcare disparity has become even more apparent, how we can build a more inclusive healthcare system, and ways organizations can support this progress. Dr. Hines shared examples of how Wellstar has worked to address social disparities and health inequities at a grassroots level, including culturally sensitive, bilingual communications initiatives and programs led by the Wellstar Center for Health Equity (WCHE) and Community Health teams to reach, engage and support at-risk populations across Georgia.
