I just wanted to make a quick comment. Dr. Snapper has always provided very good support. I really thank him for what he does for the last 15, 16 years. Thank you very much. Bye.

Dr. Snapper came into the room yesterday & told me that all the things I've been dealing w/ individually are all related to 1 condition. He told me that by treating this condition, I should be able to start weaning myself off other medications & it sounded like I can start going back to feeling like me again! For 7 years, individual doctors have been treating me, but not 1 put it together that all of my symptoms might be related to something bigger. So for the last 7 years, I started 2nd guessing myself & even started thinking maybe I was becoming a hypochondriac.... but deep down, I knew there was something that was being missed. In less than 20 minutes w/ Dr. Snapper, he made me feel as though there is hope that I can get back to feeling normal again & helped me to realize that I really do know my body best. Thank you, Dr. Snapper for making me feel heard, seen & everything in between!

Dr snapper goes above and beyond. I love that he takes so much time and care looking for the root cause and changing his approach. And he listens to every concern. It's addressed. And we move to the next concern. I think he may be the #1 most in demand dysautonomia doc in the world today! I appreciate that he's trying to train as many other doctors as possible, as well as expanding his own practice to meet the post-COVID demand.

I explained that I am pending disability. I make less than $400 a month. I don't have AC. The medication he has prescribed requires pre-authorization. The office refuses to assist with it. His staff called me back and said "it is only $14/mo". I understand 14 may not be a lot to most people, but it is more than I can afford and I find that to be incredibly insensitive.

The whole team was very considerate and thoughtful and I was very fortunate to have been connected to Dr. Snapper because he knew exactly the conditions and situations I was experiencing and didn't minimize them like other doctors have and gave me kind of straightforward options on what I can do and what I can manage and what I can't change. So I appreciate that.

Comments were made that felt completely dismissive. I wanted to take a different approach other than trying more/new prescription anti-anxiety med. Was told seeing a neurologist would be a waste of time and that the only one familiar with POTS/MCAS was located in Buffalo, NY. That is simply true. I'm finished with this doctor and this practice. He's way too full of himself and only wants to throw more prescriptions at you. I've lost interest in his approach and the way he communicates with his patients.

Dr Snapper is refreshingly candid and offered me 2 diagnoses that I knew I had and could get no other provider to entertain the information for 30 years. He saw my daughter the previous week and diagnosed her of the same 2 diagnoses. I enjoy his humor as well and wish there were more doctors with his knowledge everywhere.

Dr. Snapper was amazing. He actually took the time to listen to me and we had a great dialogue. He made me feel like I was worth it and I was important and that how I felt was not accepted, that he welcomed it with open arms.

Dr. Snapper spends most of the appointment justifying his actions rather then focusing on his patients. He needs to learn how to clearly ask his questions in a manner where that patients are able to clearly understand what information he is looking for. For example he got mad at me when he said, let's talk about your pots. And when I started explaining that I've been having a really hard time lately, and it feels like I'm not really living. His response was that, well, I'm talking about your symptoms, and obviously you're living you're here. Which is not the response that you should be giving to a patient that is telling you they feel like they can't live their life due to how this chronic illness is affecting them in combination with the fact that he spent more time trying to justify why he he does not provide patients with certain information, than trying, even a little to help find what my care plan should like. Especially with the fact that these chronic illnesses present themselves differently in each patient. And each care plan should be individualized, not based off of the general population, and what's worked for most of his patients. Especially if those methods are not working for me. For example, I asked multiple times now, over the last course of 2 years, if he knew of anybody that could assist in managing things that he has diagnosed me with and he told me, as well as his PA's, have told me that if I find it to let them know and they'll send the referral over. I have actually been told to Google it on my own, in order to manage things like my hEDS, which means I deal with daily chronic pain, and he tried to justify that because he's not a pain specialist, there's nothing that he can do. All I was asking for was the name of someone who can help seeing as he can access the wellstar database to see if there are doctors who can help treat pain or things like MCAS. He refuses to even bother looking it up. I have to have my primary care doctor do it in order to get the help that I need. If I could switch doctors, I would.

My appointment was at 7:30 and he did not come into the room until after 8:00. I can understand getting behind throughout the day because some patients need more time but to make your first patient of the day wait more than 30 minutes past their appointment time is not cool. Please respect my time.

They're excellent patient-centered providers, really good at reviewing history of care, even while/during appointments when issues arise....they are prompt with all questions, appointments, and always friendly. I cannot say enough positive things about finally being part of this practice as a patient....seen, heard, and taken care of!

Hi, I would like to say that I was very impressed with the professionalism at the office with Dr. Snapper from getting my mom checked in. They were very proficient. Everything was handled in a timely manner from getting checked in to the nurse. Dr. Snapper came in immediately after. And with my mom's diagnosis, he's been the only doctor who has given us sufficient information about her orthostatic hypertension as well as Louis Body Dementia. And I am just very grateful for him and the staff.

The doctor and staff were professional, courteous and efficient. Unfortunately they are part of the Wellstar... we care about your money first...business model. This is on Wellstar not the specific doctor practice. It starts with the app. They verify who you are then ask you to pay before they even ask specifics on why you are seeing the doctor. Wellstar needs to put healthcare first.

Dr Snapper did not seem to remember who I am, my medical conditions or what we have discussed in the past. He seems to have zero interest in learning about me or my unique challenges. Every time he asks a question, he cuts off the answer very quickly. There is no space for any real discussion. I feel stereotyped by this practice. I feel abandoned since I do not fit their stereotype. I think he has zero interest in my welfare

This is on Wellstar not the specific doctor practice. It starts with the app. They verify who you are then ask you to pay before they even ask specifics on why you are seeing the doctor. Wellstar needs to put healthcare first.

Dr Snapper is one of the most personable doctors I've met. He listened carefully, made careful astute observations and explained things thoroughly. He also took the time to thoroughly answer my husband's questions. I left with more knowledge about my health than I experience with most doctors. I am very happy I was referred to him for treatment. I believe it will radically improve my quality of life in the future.

Wellstar Autonomic Center Expands Care for Autonomic Disorders
For people with autonomic disorders, finding treatment can be difficult. With only a few specialized programs in the country, getting care can require traveling a long distance.
However, patients in Georgia can access this crucial care close to home. Wellstar Cardiovascular Disease Specialist Dr. Howard Snapper, who sees patients in
Woodstock,
is one of fewer than 50 physicians in North America certified to diagnose and treat autonomic disorders.
Autonomic disorders, including postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), involve the autonomic nervous system, which regulates involuntary body functions like heart rate, temperature, sweating and digestion.
When people with POTS move from sitting down to standing up, their heart rate increases by about 30 beats per minute, but their blood pressure doesn’t change. This sudden increase can lead to dizziness or fainting. Most patients with POTS are younger women about 13 to 50 years old.
“Autonomic disorders are not that rare—about 2 to 3 million people in the country are affected—but they are often underdiagnosed because the symptoms can indicate other conditions,” Dr. Snapper said. “It can also be difficult to get the proper diagnosis and treatment to start improving these conditions.”
Dr. Snapper sees patients from as far as California, and Wellstar has one of only two autonomic disorder programs in the Southeast. With the addition of two new advanced practice providers, the program at Wellstar now has increased capacity and can help more patients live healthier and more comfortably.
To schedule an appointment with Dr. Snapper, call (678) 324-4400.
