As the largest hospital in Cobb County, WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta bustles with volunteers. It is volunteers staffing positions at major corridor intersections who guide visitors throughout the complex. It is volunteers who deliver flowers from the gift shop to patients. It is volunteers who perform critical clerical duties for nursing stations and the emergency department.

Joining the WellStar Kennestone Hospital volunteer program is as easy as one, two, three.

One: Fill Out the Forms >>

  1. If you are 18 or older, complete the volunteer application form. If you are under 18, please visit the WellStar VolunTeens​ page to apply.
  2. Have your physician complete and sign your medical release form (.pdf).
  3. Applicants born after 1957 must include immunization records.
  4. Drop the forms off at the Department of Volunteer Services or fax to 770-793-7128​.

Two: Complete the Interview >>

  1. Complete and sign a background check permission form.
  2. Talk about why you want to volunteer and specific areas of interest.
  3. Learn about the requirements and benefits of being a volunteer.
  4. Interviews are typically held between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
  5. Some positions may require a second round of interviews.
Three: Attend Orientation >>

  1. Learn hospital policies and procedures.
  2. Learn about confidentiality and volunteer agreements.
  3. Purchase uniform at Department of Volunteer Services.

Most volunteer opportunities are available 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. There are limited openings for volunteers for evenings and weekends. Volunteers are asked to commit for at least one four-hour shift each week for six months or 100 hours, whichever comes first.​​
