My only complaint was that I had to request that my breath sounds be listened to before leaving for an upper respiratory diagnosis of bronchitis. Dr. Patel did so only after my request. This disturbed me because I should not have had to request that my lungs be auscultated for her presumptive diagnosis, when it should have been done automatically, without request. As a nurse, I know that this assessment should have been performed but the general public may not. Fortunately, I didn't have very serious, adventitious breath sounds, but if more serious, they would have been missed. Overall, it was a great visit. Her treatment plan and medication options have been so very beneficial. She really impressed me when she graciously tolerated my rejection of a steroidal injection she suggested. Only after I had a coughing spell in the treatment room which left me looking and feeling unwell, I changed my mind about the injection. She then had to back track to place the order. Honestly, wholeheartedly and warmly, she supported my change of mind. I truly appreciated that. Reflecting back on my actions, I realize that they may have even robbed her of precious, valuable time; of which I think, TIME CONSTRAINTS AND PATIENT LOAD may have prompted her not listening to my breath sounds from the outset. I'm hopeful that that will not color her future performances. I'd like for this to be a teaching summation/commentary for her and not something punitive because she has the makings, rather, she is a great doctor!

I realize it's urgent care, but it shouldn't feel like an express oil change. Sending someone home after finding a mass/tumor in their head after a CT scan without much info on it is incredibly difficult to deal with. Information should be provided so that people arent left to think of only the worst case scenario.
