About Raul Oyola, MD
Dr. Oyola is a native of the country of Colombia where in 1990 he received his medical degree with honors at the Metropolitan University in Barranquilla, Colombia. In July 1992, he came to the United States to continue his studies in medicine as a resident in internal medicine at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, University Hospital of the State University of New York in Brooklyn. Dr. Oyola went on to complete his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.
Upon completion of his fellowship in 2001, Dr. Oyola joined Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers, P.C. at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he currently evaluates and treats patients while actively participating in Clinical Trials and Research as Co-PI for NGOC clinical trials.
Dr. Oyola is the past chairman Wellstar Health System Cancer Committee and Wellstar Cobb Hospital Credentials Committee. He is currently serving as part of the Wellstar Oncology Cabinet. He is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the Cobb County Medical Society and the Medical Association of Georgia.

The ladies that take your name and they let the medical that all the initial paperwork has been completed and then they send you upstairs to see the physician. All the ladies are excellent but there is one special that has her desk in the corner but she goes above and beyond her call of duty. I can't think of her name but she always is polite and nice.

Once again, the change to doing the BP reading in the exam room and not the lab was a great idea. Especially true for 'white coat syndrome'.

The phlebotomist was less than stellar. She didn't introduce herself and her demeanor was disinterested, at best. That being said, she did a VERY good draw. So, I guess you have to figure out which is more important.

I LOVE that this practice now validates parking! Also love that they opened up more levels in the parking garage. Also love that bloodwork results are now available very quickly! The med staff is very nice and I love Dr Oyola!

Dr. Oyola is wonderful and completely in tune with my needs. My cancer is extensive and he is completely invested to my treatment. Kind, caring and well informed. More than I could hope for. Nurse Jenny Nelson is the absolute best. 100% caring and invested with my care. If I forget to ask questions during my doctor visit she will do anything in her power to get me the answers to any of my concerns. She is very attentive, she notices and will discuss any new bruising and rashes with me. Very impressed with the fact that she remembers everything that is going on with me especially because she is so busy. She takes the time needed to make sure everyone is as relaxed as they can be, answers any questions and really cares about how I'm feeling. Francesca(Dr. Oyola's admin) is so helpful and committed that everything goes smoothly. She is attentive and always responds quickly to any questions or concerns I have. She has gone above and beyond anytime there are issues especially with appointments, referrals, getting my medical questions answered and medication issues. I have the best team caring for me. I'm sorry I couldn't name everyone that works for Dr Oyola but they all do an extremely great job.

The costs for those without health insurance have increased exorbitantly; it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever what they're charging. $600 for an escort?! Whose escort? I manage perfectly well on my own; no one accompanied me. It's incredibly difficult to find a number to call to defend these charges. I don't have any catheters in, nor do I have cancer, and they charged me for that upfront. Who's going to reimburse me?!
