About Raul Oyola, MD
Dr. Oyola is a native of the country of Colombia where in 1990 he received his medical degree with honors at the Metropolitan University in Barranquilla, Colombia. In July 1992, he came to the United States to continue his studies in medicine as a resident in internal medicine at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, University Hospital of the State University of New York in Brooklyn. Dr. Oyola went on to complete his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.
Upon completion of his fellowship in 2001, Dr. Oyola joined Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers, P.C. at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he currently evaluates and treats patients while actively participating in Clinical Trials and Research as Co-PI for NGOC clinical trials.
Dr. Oyola is the past chairman Wellstar Health System Cancer Committee and Wellstar Cobb Hospital Credentials Committee. He is currently serving as part of the Wellstar Oncology Cabinet. He is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the Cobb County Medical Society and the Medical Association of Georgia.

Dr. Oyola and Garrett and their staff have been extremely amazing. Any concerns that I have, they jump on it and they take care of it immediately. They do not hesitate. They tell me from worst case scenario to the best case scenario. They are very detailed, organized, caring, compassionate, the best team ever. I do not regret one ounce of anything when it comes to them. They have made this journey, the most difficult journey in my entire life, the easiest one because they actually do care.

Everyone was very nice. But, the intake person forgot to ask me about insurance. And I have harassed about payments before I even got there to get the services. I did not understand. I have health insurance and Medicaid, I that to be very strange. And big as that place is. It very, very busy! But, the service is great so far! I needed a second opinion. But, I seen gave prognosis. But, MD I did see he is going to check me from head to toe. Which the other ones did not do. For me it feels like some reassurance, pray God. Thank the Wellstar services, Cobb county needs the whole Wellstar Systems! My set me up with quick apptmt. Like stat! And that I call good service.

I had requested a listing of what this department has been doing as far as my Care, which seem good Care the last couple years and I was completely ignored and was just given information on how to get a copy of my medical records, and I asked repeatedly for a listing of only what this department has been doing and I was totally ignored It seemed like the doctor was in too much of a hurry. Maybe he was trying to make as much money as he could in one day. radiation and the nurse kept telling me she had no access to the records that I was requesting only the doctor. The doctor still told one of the nurses to explain to me instead of him as far as what I was requesting somethings wrong maybe too many of us baby boomers are flooding the system or it's just all about the money and trying to get as many people through the system and and as quickly as possible
