About Raul Oyola, MD
Dr. Oyola is a native of the country of Colombia where in 1990 he received his medical degree with honors at the Metropolitan University in Barranquilla, Colombia. In July 1992, he came to the United States to continue his studies in medicine as a resident in internal medicine at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, University Hospital of the State University of New York in Brooklyn. Dr. Oyola went on to complete his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.
Upon completion of his fellowship in 2001, Dr. Oyola joined Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers, P.C. at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he currently evaluates and treats patients while actively participating in Clinical Trials and Research as Co-PI for NGOC clinical trials.
Dr. Oyola is the past chairman Wellstar Health System Cancer Committee and Wellstar Cobb Hospital Credentials Committee. He is currently serving as part of the Wellstar Oncology Cabinet. He is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the Cobb County Medical Society and the Medical Association of Georgia.

We were so impressed with all of the staff and provider. We were seen at Emory, but decided to see a radiation oncologist closer to our home. E were so impressed that we decided to try an oncologist at Kennestone as well. The oncologist was able to get us an appointment the next day with a rad. Oncologist. We are so very impressed with everyone!

This office seems to have a problem seeing patients on time. My appointment was at 10:00 and by the time I was finally seen it was 11:30. This is not the first time it is consistently late seeing patients.

The self check in kiosks are a terrible idea. This is an oncology center where people come to heal, not do the job someone else should be there to do. Many times over the four plus years as a cancer patient I have watched older or very ill patients struggle signing in. This shows zero compassion on Wellstar and begins the visit for many in a frustrating manner. Overall, there are Angels working at the Oncology center. It's a special place. But my biggest complaint is the experience when you start the day. Get rid of self check in and replace with a warm welcoming smiling face.

They tell me from worst case scenario to the best case scenario. They are very detailed, organized, caring, compassionate, the best team ever. I do not regret one ounce of anything when it comes to them. They have made this journey, the most difficult journey in my entire life, the easiest one because they actually do care.
