About Nydia Bladuell, MD
Dr. Nydia Bladuell is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. She earned her medical degree in 1986 at the Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico where she graduated with honors at the top of her class. Dr. Bladuell completed her internal medicine internship and residency at Cabrini Medical Center in New York City, where she was Chief Resident her senior year followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Seton Hall University St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center where she was Chief Cardiology Fellow her senior year.
Her special interests include non-coronary intervention, nuclear cardiology, peripheral vascular disease, and women and heart disease.
Dr. Bladuell joined Wellstar Cardiovascular Medicine in April, 2009. She is currently on staff at Wellstar Kennestone and Cobb hospitals.
Dr. Bladuell is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Heart Association, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and was selected as one of America’s Top Cardiologists for 2010.
Dr. Bladuell is married. Her hobbies include exercise and golf. She is fluent in Spanish.

I felt the doctor was very logical of what was going on with me and made sure things were put in place to start.

Wish providers would take a little extra to really listen and try to understand when I try to explain what's going on and trying to tell them that I'm completely overwhelmed and struggling. Especially when the appointment ends up taking up over an hour, provided with way to many things to keep track of and no real explanation of what was going on. Sensory overload combined with burnout is is real and can be hard to cope with but it's made more difficult when you're not able to communicate effectively

The doctor didn't really listen to me. It felt like she was just judging me, rather than providing support. She did not offer any resources when that's what I needed. I feel that being blunt is okay, but also show some empathy and support.

Dr. Bladuell listens and cares. She is a very astute Cardiologist that has provided the best care possible for my heart issues. Women tend to excuse away the symptoms that they are experiencing. I taught this while working in cardiac rehab. Dr. Bladuell listens and doesn't dismiss symptoms as trivial. Dr. Bladuell is also caring for my husband now, and he trusts the advisement and follows the guidelines that she has provided. That is a great thing because the patient doesn't always listens to their spouse.
