About Laurel Barras, MD
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin where she majored in both Zoology and Spanish. She then completed medical school at the Chicago Medical School where she received the Scholastic Achievement Award for the highest GPA in her graduating class. Following medical school, Dr. Barras completed her orthopedic surgery residency training at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota (Ranked #2 by US News and World Report). At Mayo, she not only learned from leaders in the field of orthopedics, but also covered a junior hockey team, multiple high school football teams, and the Minnesota Timberwolves professional basketball team. After residency, Dr. Barras was selected to train in a top-ranked orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. At UVA, she covered the University of Virginia football, women’s soccer, and women’s basketball teams.
Dr. Barras offers comprehensive treatment options for her patients based on their specific needs. Could not have been any better!

I forgot a handkerchief and a comb, and the staff preparing the room for the next patient didn't give them to me even though I was requesting my next appointment and it took me long enough for them to give me the items. It's a small thing, but what I value is the inattention of the staff who enter the room after each appointment.
