The referral setup sent me to the wrong type of physician, she was able to answer my questions in order to get me to the right type of physician. It wasn't a TOTAL waste of time and money, providing her recommendation is the type of physician I need to see.

I had an appointment today at Wellstar Neurosurgery in Austell with Katrina Joyce, NP-BC, and I want to take a moment to recognize just how amazing and special she is. I understand Wellstar's commitment to putting people first, but a mission or a set of values is only as meaningful as the people who bring those values to life. Caring for another person comes from within. It takes someone who is willing to truly listen, to understand, and to use everything within their knowledge and capabilities to help ensure the best possible care for their patient. Today, Ms. Joyce did exactly that for me. I was in tears because I finally felt that someone truly saw me. She listened to me. She heard me. And most importantly, she cared. There is a difference between simply providing medical care and making a patient feel that their concerns genuinely matter. Ms. Joyce made me feel that I mattered. Her compassion, attentiveness, and commitment to my care meant more to me than I can adequately express.
