I felt like the visit was largely a waste of my time and money. Another specialist encouraged me to go to GI to get more insight on a possible medication interaction, but this provider flat out told me she has no idea how or why the medication may cause GI issues, just that it does bc she treats people with it. She said she doesn't know because she doesn't prescribe it. But if she's treating people for GI issues in connection with this medication, it seems only appropriate that she would know more about why there were issues in her field of specialty. That was the whole reason I was referred to GI in the first place. It also took several months to get an appointment with anyone, which made the whole thing feel even more frustrating.

I really liked how the nurse prepared me for the exam (liver scan) and about getting results. That helped calm my nerves. She talked to me (just making small talk about life) at times during the exam and that really helped me with my anxiety -it took my mind off immediately about just thinking about my fatty liver results!
