Went very well with visit

Why is it not possible to schedule a return appointment 6 months in the future. The receptionist during a prior visit stated the system did not allow booking 6 months ahead. Instead the receptionist said I needed to call back to setup the appointment. When I eventually called back the next available was well beyond 6 months. In today's computerized world, it seems like a very easy fix.
