PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency
About our PGY2 Oncology Care Pharmacy Residency
Residents who successfully complete an accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency are prepared for advanced patient care, academic, or other specialize positions, along with board certification, if available.Overview
PGY2 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency programs to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in specialized areas of practice. PGY2 residencies provide residents with opportunities to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both to the provision of patient care or other advance practice settings. This PGY2 residency program provides the resident with advanced clinical training in hematology/oncology and supportive care pharmacotherapy, as well as numerous opportunities for teaching and scholarship. Upon completion of this residency, the pharmacist will be a competent clinical pharmacy practitioner who engages in multidisciplinary collaboration, demonstrates advanced critical thinking skills, and promotes patient advocacy. Graduates of this program will be adequately prepared to enter oncology pharmacy practice as a clinical specialist and/or academician.- Applications are to be submitted through PhORCAS and require a letter of intent, complete pharmacy transcripts, curriculum vitae and at least three professional references (minimum 1 each from preceptor and supervisor).
- Supplemental application is to be sent to the Residency Program Director via email before application deadline.
