Labor & Delivery

Stages of Labor:

  • Stage 1 begins when your cervix begins to open and ends when your cervix is fully open at 10 cm. This stage can last for several hours.
  • Stage 2 continues until your baby is born, and can last two hours or longer.
  • Stage 3 continues until you pass the placenta through your vagina. This stage generally lasts less than 20 minutes.

Delivery Options:

  • Vaginal delivery
  • C-section

Your Baby:

Average weight at birth is 7 lbs. 4 oz.

Routine Exams & Tests:

  • Pelvic exam
  • Fetal monitoring
