Community Hospice

tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain is one of two inpatient facilities offered by WellStar Community Hospice. The other is tranquility at Cobb Hospital, which has served the community since 1998. We also provide home-based care in six counties.

tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain opened in early 2012, providing patients and their families with competent, compassionate end-of-life care in 18 private rooms.

For us, hospice is not a place but a set of commitments and beliefs. We honor the whole patient and family and deliver respectful, appropriate care by reducing pain and enhancing comfort. Our program is fully associated with WellStar Health System. As such we have the most competent and compassionate doctors, nurses, medical team and support staff of any hospice in the area.

At tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain care is a collaborative effort that addresses the needs of the whole patient. Our physicians lead a team that includes a patient's own doctors as well as our specialized nurses, clinical care partners, bereavement professionals, chaplains and social workers who provide all-important emotional support to patients and their loved ones. That collaboration extends to patients and families who partner with the hospice team to determine the appropriate level of care and make other decisions.
